Ypsilon Diamond

Posted by admin  Published in Lancia

Lancia Ypsilon Diamond represents the ultimate in luxury, typified by prestigious interior materials and a refined body finish created by a unique paint treatment and finish. The Diamond is no mere exercise in styling but a genuine experiment by Lancia to identify luxury content for a possible production model.

The Diamond’s colour scheme features Lancia’s new “eco-chrome” finish, which achieves a chrome effect by means of a special paint rather than by conventional chrome plating. Tinged with a warm, “white gold” nuance, this unique new eco-chrome finish has been applied to various parts of the body, including the sun roof, mirror covers, grille, headlight surrounds, pillar and tailgate logos, door handles, bonnet, spoiler, exhaust terminal and alloy wheels. The rest of the body is finished in an elegant soft-touch effect colour called “Chiffon White”.

The team at the Lancia Style Centre has paid special attention to the Ypsilon Diamond’s refined colour scheme. After all, colour has never been simply a matter of aesthetics for the Ypsilon. On the contrary, it is an integral part of a product philosophy based on elegance, glamour, personality, play, creativity, style and the widest array of customisation options.

The Ypsilon Diamond’s fascinating and original exterior finish is backed up by an interior that achieves a perfect blend of elegance and refinement. The upholstery is characterised by Lancia’s trademark attention to detail and by the use of superior quality materials, from luxurious, bronze-black galuchat hide on the central sections of the seats and on the head rests with the Ypsilon logo, to glittering, soft, embossed nabuk hide on the seat sides, dashboard and door panels.

This two-tone theme extends to the rest of the interior too. The roof is covered in a light Alcantara fabric that matches the paint finish of the door pillars and sun visors, while the bottom section of the dashboard is finished in a contrasting dark shade. The steering wheel, instrument cowl, and handbrake and gear lever boots are in sumptuous black leather. The connotation of sartorial craftsmanship is reinforced by double stitching and embroidering in both contrasting and matching colours.

Finally, in perfect harmony with the outside of the car, the special eco-chrome finish reoccurs inside on the air vent surrounds, glove compartment handle, door handles, steering wheel spokes and gear lever surround. The gear lever is made even more exclusive by a crystal effect, methacrylate gear lever knob made to look like a gem stone, reminding occupants of the name of this Lancia show-car.

Lancia Ypsilon

Posted by admin  Published in Lancia

The new 2011 Lancia Ypsilon packs the best of Italian style, innovation and eco-friendliness. For the first time it is proposed in a 5-door version designed to offer even greater convenience and comfort to devotees of Lancia charm, technological excellence and unique style.

Lancia 2011

At the heart of the Ypsilon’s design is an original approach to the “premium” car concept that redefines the meaning of the word “luxury”, fascinating those who seek originality and character, those who love technology and elegance, and those who admire quality and innovation. With Ypsilon, luxury becomes something unique that triggers an emotion, the pleasure of “owning” but without pretentious display, the search for uniqueness in any area, the statement of one’s true personality without allowing himself to be swayed by the judgements of others.

The new Ypsilon, which will be on the market from June across key European markets and from September in Great Britain and Ireland with the Chrysler brand, is the fourth series of the successful model – over one and a half million vehicles currently on the road – born in 1985 when the Y10 debuted at the Geneva Motor Show. It was a miniature flagship with style and content features never seen before on an economy car of the day, marking that forerunner spirit that was to accompany the model until today. It was the Lancia Y’s turn in 1996: elegant, elite, with a strong personality that reinforced the concept of “customized luxury”. Hence we arrived in 2003 when the third generation, the Lancia Ypsilon, brought to the world of city-cars the technology and “class” till then exclusively reserved for models in higher segments.
Now the baton is taken up by the new Ypsilon, which confirms it is the “Fashion City-Car” par excellence that continues to charm with its personality, sophisticated style and unconventional class, but it has become more grown up and mature, with a wider appeal. And below this polished exterior bearing the prestigious “Made in Italy” label lies all the substance of a car that boasts cutting-edge technology as recently pointed out by the four awards given in occasion of the “International Engine of the Year” competition.

Ypsilon 2011

The innovative engine excelled over the competitors’ engines in all categories in which it competed and it has been appointed as the “International Engine of the Year 2011″. Together with the Twin Air, the motoring excellence of the new Ypsilon follows with the eco-friendly systems Multijet II e Start&Stop, and unique features in this category such as the brand new “Blue&Me-TomTom LIVE” and the “Smart fuel” system”, in addition to the innovative second generation Magic Parking, Bi-Xenon headlights and LED tail lights.

A refined and innovative Italian “5-door” with the look typical of a “3-door”, the new Ypsilon is a very compact car, so much so that it remains in segment “B” but with high standards of roominess and comfort: although just 384 cm long, 167 cm wide and 152 cm high, with a wheelbase of 239 cm, the New Ypsilon can accommodate up to five people and in relation to its size, has one of the most spacious boots in its segment and is one of the best in class in terms of passenger room. Without increasing the size of the rear passenger area, excellent accessibility and comfort have been achieved with the use of “slim seats”, a technology used here for the first time by Fiat Group Automobiles.

Lancia Ypsilon 2011

In this way the New Ypsilon continues its domination of the key city-car category in response both to recent market trends where the “5-door” market represents two-thirds of segment B, and to the needs of a broader target than that reached until now, including young men and young families. It is precisely regarding the quality, comfort and usability of the interiors that the new car is determined to make all the difference. Hop inside and you become aware of the refined materials and colour combinations, the attention to detail and the numerous options for customization.

At the time of the launch, the range offered over 600 possible customisations created by cross-matching 3 interior trim specifications (Silver, Gold and Platinum), all designed to offer the customer high product value, 16 Elegant liveries of which 4 are two-tone, 6 different upholstery trims, 3 types of alloy wheels and 3 engines: (69 HP 1.2 Fire EVO II and 85 HP 0.9 TwinAir, the latter also with DFN semi-automatic gearbox), a turbodiesel (95 HP 1.3 MultiJet II), all equipped with Start&Stop technology as standard. Afterwards also the 1.2 Fire EVO II Bi-fuel engine (petrol and LPG) will be available. Note that a wealth of equipment in the field of safety is standard on the entire range: electronic stability control complete with ASR and Hill Holder, ABS with EBD, from 4 to 6 airbags (front, window-bags and side), in addition to the ISOFIX attachments.

Therefore, the new car represents an evolution of the Ypsilon model in terms of technology, safety, comfort and usability, but even so it preserves its positioning of “accessible luxury” as an attractive price list demonstrates. In detail, the Silver trim level provides door opening remote control, height- and reach-adjustable steering wheel, electric front windows, 50/50 split rear seat, height-adjustable driver seat, 15″ steel wheels, interiors in technical fabric with fitted electro-welded seams, radio set-up and rear heated window. In terms of safety, ABS with EBD, ESP complete with ASR and Hill Holder, front and side airbags, and also the Isofix attachments are offered standard. In addition to this great quantity of equipment, the Gold version adds: manual climate control, radio with CD and MP3 player, electrically adjustable door mirrors, steering wheel and leather-trimmed gear-lever gaiter, Castiglio upholstery and Comfort Pack. Finally, the Platinum trim level offers the added rear electric windows, fog lights, 15″ alloy wheels, rear seat head restraints and leather upholstery.

In addition, for those eager to customize their New Ypsilon and make it truly exclusive, an extensive range of fine, top quality accessories is available. Not only do the accessories offer great style and meticulous attention to detail, but they also go beautifully with the car, in line with the unmistakable Lancia style and in full compliance with technical, stylistic and mechanical characteristics of the new car. From exclusive 16″ alloy wheels, side skirts and tinted headlights to a black kick plate with illuminated logo, a “Blue&Me-TomTom LIVE” and the Accessories Packs

The new Ypsilon has its sights set on becoming the alternative “premium” city car in Europe, designed as it is for a demanding customer who likes to stand out from the crowd but who also, at the same time, wants a car that is enjoyable and comfortable for everyday use. Without forgetting that nowadays the product itself is not the only “premium” element for enticing a potential customer. For this reason the brand has come up with important new sales and after-sales proposals to cater to the desires, needs, tastes and aspirations of many different customers. An example? The extended warranty devised by FGA Capital, a finance company specialising in the automotive sector. What’s exciting about this solution is the extended duration up to 96 months, the unlimited mileage and the contents: a complete coverage for the vehicle components. And a characteristic even more innovative on the market is the same level of coverage for the entire duration chosen for the loan.

Lancia Ypsilon ELLE

Posted by admin  Published in Lancia

Lancia is back at the Geneva International Motor Show with the Delta, the Ypsilon and the Musa – prestigious cars that showcase the best of European style – on the Swiss ramps along with some Chrysler vehicles (from March 2, 2010, more information at chryslergroupgeneva2010.com) sealing their recent alliance.
For the first time the two brands are displaying in one exhibition area designed to move away from trade show traditions in favour of a more symbolic stand.
Why this choice of more meaningful elements on a symbolic level? Because the Lancia-Chrysler alliance has strong characteristics precisely on this level: we are talking about two brands that have made the history of the automobile and that now interpenetrate, completing each other like two puzzle pieces that encapsulate the best of what automotive history has produced on both sides of the ocean, two puzzle pieces that, uniting, become a new entity, a kind of new hero of the two worlds that has and will have many new things to say.

Lancia Ypsilon ELLE

This gives rise to a unique setup where the graphic design of a puzzle unites with the latest fashions and colours. The imposing backdrop comes out of a perfect union of enormous puzzle pieces with images of the two brands, a symbolic fusion of Lancia and Chrysler under the banner of the values that they share: from elegance to technological innovation, from history to the will to shine in the future. Even the floors of the booth take up the puzzle theme to represent the union of the two brands as do the two big platforms, shaped like puzzle pieces, showing off on one side two Lancia Deltas and on the other side two Chrysler 300Cs. In this setting the visitor becomes an essential part of the composition. In fact, the images of the public are transformed into puzzle pieces to complete the puzzle of the booth, thanks to a play of mirrors and video cameras.

Ypsilon ELLE

The star at Geneva is the new Ypsilon ELLE, a special series created by Lancia in cooperation with ELLE, an emblem of femininity and modernity that each season creates and establishes a wide range of women’s clothing and accessories. Manufactured in a limited edition and marketed in the major European markets, the model on show features a 1.2 60 HP engine and two-tone body colour (matt black/white).
The spotlight is also on a show car, the Lancia Musa in a world preview, which, on the one hand is inspired by high-end jewellery, and on the other hand pays tribute to the atmosphere of the recent TV commercial featuring the model, starring Audrey Hepburn, the immortal symbol of elegance and beauty.
The vehicle on show is a concept car that anticipates a special series to be marketed in the major European markets in the second half of 2010. In addition, with the new version, the Musa range gets an original 1.3 Multijet II 95 HP (Euro5) engine along with the Start&Stop system that lets drivers lower fuel consumption and emissions on the combined cycle by up to 114g/km (109 g/km with robotised transmission), putting the Musa in a leading position in the MPV segment. A confirmation of

Lancia ELLE

Alongside these exclusive versions, let’s not forget the Lancia Delta present at the motor show with a special new series with shiny black roof and matt black body. It is the first automobile to sport the exclusive standard paint finish called Hard Black. Equipped with a 1.8 Di TurboJet 200 HP engine and Sportronic automatic transmission, the vehicle on show in Geneva features some interventions on the interior that explore future aesthetic solutions, such as the dashboard in beige and central console with luxurious treatments and new colour combinations.

The Lancia display is concluded with a Delta Platino equipped with a 1.6 Multijet 120 HP engine with standard DPF as well as Selectronic automatic transmission. Set apart by a two-tone body (white with matt black roof) and by Frau leather interior, this model comes with the characteristic back seat, to date an exclusive of the Executive version. From today even the Gold and Platinum versions of the Lancia Delta come with these cosy and comfortable seats that provide the same comfort as an armchair in business class on an intercontinental flight, besides having a reclining backrest to create lots of legroom, a comfortable feature on long trips. This exclusive treatment at the rear of the Lancia Delta makes it a real modern alternative to bigger, heavier, more expensive sedans with higher fuel consumption levels.

Lancia Delta 1.8 Di Turbo Jet 200 HP

Posted by admin  Published in Lancia

Lancia Delta reflects perfectly the concept of “Anticrisis Luxury” as it fulfils the current requirements of prestige and mobility thanks to the logic of downsizing – i.e. it ensures high quality and performance, reducing cost, size and fuel consumption. Thanks to these winning characteristics, in March this model became the leader of its car range in Italy and is fast growing at European level. In order to improve these results, today Lancia launches a new engine and a new version together with a number of technological changes that make this car the reference product for this car range.

Lancia Delta 1.8 Di Turbo Jet 200 HP

The main innovation is represented by the 200 HP 1.8 Di TurboJet engine, the most powerful one of its range. It is an innovative petrol direct injection engine that confirms Lancia’s preference for sports cars and, at the same time, its commitment to protect the environment by limiting emissions and fuel consumption.
These qualities are achieved by enhancing its brilliance, flexibility and the pleasure of driving which have always made this model stand out. This engine is produced by FPT – Fiat Powertrain Technologies – and is provided with a modern 6 speed automatic transmission. It delivers a maximum power of 200 HP (147 kw) at 5,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 320 Nm (32.6 Kgm) at 1,400 rpm. With such equipment, Lancia Delta can reach a maximum speed of 230 km/h and goes from 0 to 100 km/h in only 7.4 seconds. At the same time, the car stands out for low fuel consumption (7.8 litres per 100 km), reduced CO2 emissions (185 g/km) and a Euro 5 homologation.

Lancia Delta 1.8 Di Turbo Jet 200 HP

The second innovation is the exclusive Executive version: a car addressed to clients who look for top luxury and comfort. The “top range” was designed to fulfil the requirements of business clients and members of the diplomatic and institutional worlds – as the attention invested in designing a comfortable passenger compartment shows. Seats are wrap around and comfortable as they are designed to business class standards. The back seats are comfortable for long trips with plenty of room for the legs. Therefore, Lancia Delta Executive offers a real, modern, in tune with the time alternative to bigger, heavier and more expensive cars. The fact this car was chosen to be the Official Car for the 9th World Summit of the Nobel Peace Prize held from 11th to 13th December 2008 in Paris – of which Lancia was the Main Sponsor – is not a coincidence. A Lancia Delta Executive fleet will also drive the international authorities to the G8 summit that will take place from the 8th to the 10th of July.
Lastly, the third innovation of the Lancia Delta 2009 range is represented by the marketing of some innovative devices aimed at making driving a comfortable and pleasant experience. First of all, there are the electronic suspensions with a variable damping system (Reactive Suspension System), capable of reducing car vibrations and ensuring maximum levels of safety, comfort and driveability. Then there is the brand new Sportronic 6 gear automatic transmission with controls on the steering wheels (currently the device is provided with only a 200 HP 1.8 Di TurboJet engine). The last technological innovation of the Lancia Delta is represented by the semi-automatic parking system called “Magic Parking”.
