Nissan has unveiled a new engine technology, Variable Valve Event and Lift (VVEL), designed to lower carbon-dioxide emissions by up to 10 percent. Nissan officials say VVEL-equipped engines are more fuel-efficient, offer a better acceleration response and provide more power.
To help decide which of its next three concept vehicles – Chevy Trax, Chevy Beat or Chevy Groove – will be part of its next assembly line, General Motors is conducting an online poll. The three mini cars are all global concepts scheduled to be unveiled during the New York International Auto Show.
