Man vs Machine Challenge

Nuance Communications, Inc. will showcase the company’s speech technology in two, live on stage, ‘man vs. machine’ match-ups, which will take place on April 26 in front of a large audience at Conversations Europe 2007 in Cannes, France. Available video will include a simulated car driving challenge whereby one of Britain’s top racing drivers, Perry McCarthy, also known as ‘the Stig’ from the famous BBC TV-show Top Gear, will take his chances against a contestant who is able to automatically listen to incoming text messages and also operate his or her MP3 player while driving around a simulated course.

It will also include a man vs. machine text messaging race, pitting Nuance speech dictation against the recently crowned West Coast Champion of the LG National Texting Championship, Eli Tirosh, along with demonstrations of people using speech-enabled mobile phones, mobile navigation and in-car command and control capabilities.
