As part of a plan to develop and send a space shuttle to the moon and Mars by 2014, Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne (PWR) announced Volvo Aero as a new project participant. In conjunction with NASA’s ARES 1 project, Volvo Aero will develop the nozzle for the mission’s J-2X engine. Volvo Aero has delivered more than 1000 nozzles to the Ariane project thus far.
